Mental Shopping Notes

I finally found the energy and time to go grocery shopping tonight. It was a nice break for me. I did a lot of random thinking on the trip there and back, so I decided to make a Tumblr post to sum it all up, for no particular reason at all.

  1. Oh crap.. is that the bus?! *runs across the street and up the block at the speed of light* Oh no, it’s just the 49 D; GAH the 51B is right behind it. I would have made it without running. But everyone watched me run for the 49 like an idiot D; I’m taking it, even though it will take a bit longer to get me there.
  2. I’ve always liked riding at the front of the bus when it’s really crowded and the bus driver lets 2 or 3 people stand in front of the restrictive yellow line. It’s an awesome feeling. However, I never realized that sitting in a seat that looks directly out the back window was just as cool.
  3. Talking to strangers on the bus at night is especially nice, because all they want to do is complain about their day.
  4. College students still play lame games like staring contests. (Sorry to the 3 guys that got off at Clark Kerr!!)
  5. Standing at a pentagon shaped intersection and overlooking 5 crosswalks at the same time is reallllllly cooooooool 8) But I had to wait twice as long for the light because cars were going this way and that. =[
  6. I only made a mental list of groceries that I wanted to buy, but when I got to the store, I didn’t know what to get.
  7. Good thing I went without eating dinner, because almost everything seemed appetizing, so I was able to put things into my basket easily.
  8. What?! There is a buy at least 8 things to get 50 cents off the Safeway club price of all of them? This is probably not that good of a deal, but since I see stickers everywhere for this buy 8 things special, I’m going to buy at least 8 things that are labelled with these kind of tags!
  9. This basket is getting too heavy D; I’m going to get a big shopping cart instead >=D
  10. AHH Starbucks Coffee Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino Ice Cream ?!??! LIMITED EDITION? THIS WILL BE MY SPLURGE!!! But it’s still 3.99 on sale. D; I’ll just get the 1.99 box of mint chocolate chip ice cream…
  11. These two lines are so long D; Oh wait! The express line is open! Nooooo I don’t know how many items I have… I have a lot D: *strolls up to the express line and starts piling items onto the conveyor belt anyways* Success!
  12. WHATTTTTTT I SPENT $30!?!?!?!??! And I only have one meat item and one vegetable item (because Chinatown is cheaper) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! What did I just buy?!?!
  13. Oh well, I probably won’t be shopping again in a while.

Sorry if you read this far and found it a waste of your time ^^; Goodnight~

disturbed.

After just finishing a mini tv series on human trafficking, I’m sick to my stomach and highly disturbed about the whole topic. I haven’t felt this anguished, indignant, frustrated, and powerless in a long time.. though my own feelings are nothing close to the pain and suffering of real victims. I can’t even begin to imagine what they go through. To have their hopes and dreams dashed, their past erased, their futures bleak, their present a living hell… it’s just too sad. In the past, I’ve often daydreamed about how it would be like to run away and live a different life. For trafficked victims, it’s a terrible reality.

This is just one of the infinite problems and struggles that we have in our world today, which makes it even worse. Time to find any means of contributing to the cause, and join the fight.

In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, here is one of my many stuffed animal couples. (*^▽^*)
Blueberry (left) is from a small store on Coronado Island (San Diego, CA) and Raspberry (right) is from the Amazons (jk just amazon.com..). Raspberry has a hole in her left leg which causes her beads to fall out from time to time.. (ToT). I have yet to find time to fix her up, but I will soon .. ^^ Happy Valentine’s Day !

You say goodbye in the pouring rain, and I break down as you walk away… stay, stay~

I’ve been obsessed with Hurts for a few days.. ^^

J/Kpopped!

Yay! My mom called me an hour ago about a package for me from Hong Kong. My package from Yesasia! wooot <33 I ordered this on 9/30, but because the SNSD single wasn’t to be released until late October, there was an agonizing wait.

What I’ll be opening ^^:

1. SNSD - Gee (Japan) First Press Limited Edition CD+DVD. Especially excited to see what member is on the trading card~ ^^ The member determines who gets to keep it =DD (I have dibs on Sooyoung + Sunny)

EDIT: It was a Seohyun card <3 =] Just as nice

2. SNSD - Run Devil Run (Repackage of Oh!): I don’t know if a bonus member poster is still included with the current printings, but if it is, I’m excited to see what member I get ^^

EDIT: There was a Taeyeon poster inside!

3. -cannot be disclosed right now as its a belated b-day present for someone, just in case she sees this ^^;-

———-

I also splurged on AKB48 cds on Ebay today =X They came to around $8 each. If I was more patient I could have probably found them cheaper in the next few weeks.

*EDIT: I just saw new auctions on Ebay for 2 of the singles I bought, both starting at $1.99 + $3.00 shipping. =[ BOOO. I knew this was going to happen~ T__T

However, just Ponytail to Shushu would have cost $20 on Yesasia! =D So I saved money. Theatre versions are also nice because they’re not sold in stores on or offline; they’re available at their theatre in Japan (I think..) What I just ordered:

1. AKB48 - Sakura no Shiori (Theatre Version)

- Has my favorite member, Miyazawa Sae, on the cover (far right)~ hohoho~ ^^

2. AKB48 - Ponytail to Shushu (Type B) CD+DVD

- Bought this version b/c Sae is on the back cover =x Yes, I’m buying a single with bikini laden girls on the covers, but I really love this simple summer song and the PV a lot. ^^;

3.  AKB48 - Heavy Rotation (Theatre Version)

- also bought this because Sae is on the cover. =x

I hate not being able to resist buying stuff from female idol groups.  Gah =[

Day 04- A song that reminds you of something sad

SNSD - Dear Mom

♥”I’m feeling tired today
Left alone in the room hugging a pillow
Touching my phone to distract my mind
It’s lonely to eat tonight

Suddenly, I was frightened by the ringing phone
Its my mom’s worried voice to ask if I’ve eaten
These words usually annoy me but today it’s different
The forgotten promises are remembered”

♥ “I will be a person with pretty heart
And become a person who is selfless
I’ll keep the love of my mother’s wishes
I think of mother who used to share my dreams and brush my hair”

Though I’ve made hurtful wrong choices
You silently watched over me from behind
But now I think more than an innocent child
The meaning of mom’s silent prayers”

“Mom, I really love you”

Bus hopping

Today I was in downtown Berkeley, ready to catch the 51B home. I saw it at the bus stop a block away, and knew I had no chance. T_T I looked up the next time on nextbus. 11 minutes.

“11 minutes is enough to buy something from Walgreens,” I thought. So I ran across the street and got a pack of cream cheese. I know I wrote a tumblr post not long ago about getting cream cheese from Walgreens. I’m not addicted to cream cheese (I just can’t eat my bagels without it) and for some reason, I can never remember to buy cream cheese unless I’m at that Walgreens.

Unfortunately, I’m also a person that likes to walk aimlessly around the store, hoping that there would be something else I could buy. I browsed through birthday cards, Halloween candy, notebooks, and ended up at the food section again. I checked out with the feeling it was already too late to catch the bus.

I was right. The 51B was right across the street and just left the station. I then saw the 1R drive up to the bus stop. It was my turn to cross the street. When I reached the other side, the 1R was still there. I quickly thought up a plan that I was almost sure would work 100%. I got on the 1R knowing that the next stop after Shattuck and Allston was Durant and Dana (limited stops FTW). In the meantime, the 51B has 4 stops along the way before it gets to Durant and Dana (many stops FTL.)

I got to Durant and Dana 30-40 seconds before the 51B that I had missed earlier got there. I then hopped onto the 51B home. =)

Nothing out of the ordinary, but I felt like I had pulled off something big. =DD
